The High Line

Meatpacking District 

The High Line, the West Side’s decrepit elevated railroad now visionary urban park, feels slightly voyeuristic—it could be that my room at the Standard gazed right down on the action. Or maybe the bikini and Speedo clad folk parked on the chaise lounges that line the walkway. No matter, I happily traipsed up and down it every chance I got. Enter on Gaansevoort and Washington, head down the stairs at Chelsea Market to pick up a cupcake at Eleni’s or a sandwich at Sarabeth’s for an impromptu picnic.
