Learn Something New

Prepare a traditional 19th-century meal at Mystic Seaport’s Open Hearth Cooking Class on February 26th. Sign me up for The Pequot Museum’s Winter Survival Skills on January 22nd. (Does it come with a dose of vitamin D?). Take a Couture Knitting Workshop at Killingworth Art Center. It’s never too late for your rock star dreams: Guitar for Beginners at Adams Middle School in Guilford. Put that ancient Mah Jong set to use: beginner to experienced classes are offered in Clinton. Try your hand at figure drawing with live models at The Lyme Academy of Fine Arts. And while I’m seriously lacking in talent, there is nothing more stress-reducing than sticking my hands in a large lump of clay. Guilford Art Center offers all levels of ceramics classes. Searching for inner peace? Find it at the free meditation classes held every Wednesday at  7pm at Guest House Retreat and Conference Center in Chester.
