Winter Vacation Fun

If you’re like me, you wait until vacation is upon you to figure out something to do with your tribe. Here are some diverting ideas if you’re sticking around the Shoreline. My daughter’s beloved Camp Hazen in Chester is offering a week of unique day camps to suit the vagaries of children’s attention spans: choose Kid Chefs (learn the secret to Camp Hazen’s famous chocolate chip cookies) or Creature Feature (your camper explores the woodlands with Hazen’s naturalists) or stay overnight and give sleepaway a try. Head to the CT River Museum for a cruise in search of Bald Eagles. Cross country ski, snowshoe or go tubing at Winding Trails in Farmington (rentals available) or take a spin on the new rink at MGM Casino. The local museums have plenty of activities planned; click here for a list of fun stuff to do during winter break.
