Eat / restaurants / Cafe Sol
Tabatha and Brian, the earnest owners of Cafe Sol, are providing a clean antidote to the usual fried summer fare on the Shoreline. A breakfast and lunch menu of (in their words) seasonally fresh, optimistically organic and locally flavored, will have you thinking twice about that order of fried clams. I was able to stick to my current diet (more on that later) with grilled vegetables on a mound of crisp mixed greens, and my daughter was smitten by her breakfast sandwich, smeared with “special sauce”, a blend of greek yogurt, mustard, dijon and red wine vinegar (and no fat!).
Brian hails from The Four Seasons and knows his way around food and Tabatha is a home cook with a penchant for clean eating. Choose from a menu of salads, sandwiches and smoothies (in “fun” size or “outlandish”), Ashlawn Farm Coffee and hot dogs from Four Mile River Farm, served up in a laid-back, boho atmosphere; a rare thing on the Shoreline! Wifi, of course.
