Travel / Elsewhere / Ruby Beets
My voyage to Montauk had an ulterior motive: a stop at Ruby Beets in Sag Harbor, an antique and contemporary furnishings shop I’ve been ogling on the internet for years. On a side street in Sag Harbor, it’s easy to miss among Main Street’s boutiques. But don’t. Oversized vintage lighting, antique sofas reupholstered in belgian linen, locally made oak Parson’s tables and tons of decorative oddities: miniature busts, collectible glass vessels, anatomy charts and mammoth moth prints. It’s a bit like stepping into the Wand Shop in Harry Potter. You know there’s magic inside.
