Clad in Shoes

Besides Arabella in Branford and Trudy’s European Shoes in Guilford, it’s astonishing how few independent shoes stores remain on the Shoreline. I was psyched to learn of Clad In’s foray into footwear and made a bee-line to Stonington to check out their offerings. I’ve always admired their eagle-eyed edits of mainly European clothing lines and they’ve brought their singular vision to the new shop.
When I say there’s something for everyone here, I mean it; from comfy Campers to  uber-groovy California collection Cydwoq (pronounced sidewalk), Italian hand-crafted leather loafers by Gidigio and sky-high Cordani clogs. You’ll find espadrilles, platforms and plenty of flats and sandals in an easy-to-shop wall grid. A selection of buttery leather bags and belts round out the mix. Need an outfit to go with your new shoes? Check out the clothing shop right next door. Worth the schlep to Stonington for those of us on this side of the Shoreline!
