Best Live Theater 2012

The Kate

While it was a close race between The Kate, Goodspeed and Ivoryton Playhouse, The Kate won by a few votes. Considering the lack of density in population along the Shoreline, we’re lucky to have so many venues for live performances. While I’m not picking favorites (I enjoy them all), if you’ve yet to see a performance at The Kate, GO! The programming is varied and interesting, from local bands to national acts to kid’s theater and The Met in HD; the venue is small and intimate, the seats are ridiculously comfy and there’s not a bad one in the house. See the CT Film Festival through July 1st; coming this summer: Dave Mason, Ellis Paul, Loudon Wainwright III, Judy Collins and much more. Click here for the schedule.
