Fun / Concerts and Theater / Summer Flickers
When was the last time you saw a movie for $5? 1999? Now you can, every Wednesday through September 19th at Summer Flickers at the Hygienic Art Park. During my July 4th viewing of “Jaws,” I enjoyed a sunset behind the movie screen during the opening scene and a display of heat lightning during the closing credits, all to the subtle bubbling of their signature sculpture fountain in the background.
$5 beer, $4 glasses of wine, and microwavable popcorn and candy for sale. Kids and adults welcome and patio chairs provided. Bring a blanket for a front row seat on the lawn, as well as a chance to star gaze. Movies start at 8pm and a $5 donation is suggested. The upcoming schedule includes favorites like Singin’ in the Rain(August 8th), The Jerk (August 15th), Bonnie & Clyde(August 29th), and The Big Lebowski (September 19th).
