Zest Fresh Pastry

After falling for Zest’s modestly sized, unusually flavored treats at the Lyme Farmer’s Market, I was happy to hear they had found a commercial kitchen and opened a brick and mortar bakery  at the Velvet Mill. The artists working there must be thrilled, too, as now they can stuff themselves silly on sweet or savory scones, shortbread cookies, whoopie pies, individual bread puddings and all manner of tarts, freshly baked every morning. We tried but couldn’t resist a cinnamon bun, yeasty and decadently goopy, warm from the oven. Find Zest at the Velvet Mill, or this summer at the Lyme, Ledyard and Coventry farmer’s markets. Consider their goodies for upcoming baby showers or garden parties; mail order available.
