Body of Madison

You won’t find any cars in Kristen Miller’s garage, though you will find bikes—Assault AirBikes, as well as TRX systems, a row machine, kettlebells, plyometric boxes, and all kinds of equipment to help get you into killer shape.

Formerly located in a large Guilford studio, Kristen downsized BODY and relocated to her garage in order to be home with her young son earlier this year. Her clients followed, and for good reason—Kristen’s classes are a bootcamp-style take on functional fitness, and while you’re sure to get one heck of a workout, Kristen’s goal is to build you up rather than break you down. Yes, she puts you through butt-kicking intervals of TRX squat jumps and abdominal saws, box jumps, kettlebell deadlifts, and sprints on the AirBikes, but she also spends more time than most on stretching, warming up, cooling down, and—sigh—the sweet release of muscle tension via foam roller.

Kristen’s classes top out at three clients, which means lots of individual attention and zero opportunity to slack.

Classes: Small group fitness training and personal training.

Schedule: Several morning and afternoon classes most weekdays. Kristen currently has openings on Wednesdays at 7am, 8am, and 9:15am and can add classes on Tuesday and Thursdays with groups of three people minimum.

Atmosphere: Big gym in a small garage. Equipment ranges from Assault bikes to TRX to foam rollers.

Price: 1 class/week $20, 2 classes/week $18 each, 3 classes/week $15 each.

Extras: First class is free.
