Laura Grimmer’s idea for a kitchen shop is a stellar one: she’s bringing well-priced European kitchen design to Chester and I recently had a romp through the store. Cooks, foodies and enthusiasts will love it here, whether holiday baking or Xmas giving is on your mind. You’ll find stacks of creamy Mason Cash mixing bowls from England, my favorite sturdy French La Rochere wine glasses, plus plenty of screw pulls and Opinel knives. On the hunt for the perfect white platter? Here you go: an oversized oblong with handy raised sides. We were particularly taken with the mini accoutrements on our visit; stacks of tiny bowls for portion controlled cereal, even smaller for butter, and teeny Mason jars for miniature desserts or a bit of salad dressing. We don’t whip up pot de creme often but loved the cunning white capped cups. From a utilitarian galvanized ice bucket to oversized diamond-shaped ice molds (now that’s a GOOD gift), you’ll find everything for the larder here. Keep an eye on their calendar for free classes and demos, with more to come. Find the Perfect Pear on Facebook here.
