Weaving Workshops on a Bucolic Lyme Farm

Flat Rock Farm, Lyme

You’ve probably seen Stephanie Morton’s stunning hand-woven rugs and indigo-dyed goods at local farmers’ markets. Me, I’m almost a regular….I snap up her well-priced silk scarves for gifts and I just bought a gorgeous bedside rug crafted entirely out of local wools. I’m a BIG fan, so I was happy to hear that she’s set up shop right here in Lyme. Now, you can sign up for her weaving or Shibori Indigo dye workshops at the bucolic and alpaca populated Flat Rock Farm. I popped over the other day to see for myself and this collaboration is brilliant. Stephanie has installed her looms (including two 18th century antiques) in the barn at the Farm, an Air BNB owned by Carin Erickson. The team offers workshop weekends: learn to weave or perfect your craft AND relax in the beautiful B&B, while enjoying Carin’s astonishing cooking. It’s a perfect girls’ getaway or, for that matter, anyone. The B&B is available on its own, too, with or without Carin’s chef services (wait till you see the kitchen!). But yes, you’ll want her to cook for you.
