The Bartender at The Bee
Published: 01/31/2012 by Erica
While I have a slew of favorite restaurants on the Shoreline, my neighborhood joint is The Bee and Thistle for a cozy dinner on the couch in front of the fire and their well-priced and yummy half-plate menu. I generally stick to a glass of red wine, but the new bartender, Brian Rhoo, convinced me to try his signature cocktail, the Basil Martini, a fresh potion of Citron vodka, coconut rum, Cointreau, passion fruit reduction and chopped basil. If you haven't been to The Bee in a while, here's good reason to go, not only for Brian's concoctions but the show he puts on while making them. Click here to see Brian in action. Hysterical! Try the Ashlawntini, too, a spirited blend of Ashlawn Farm espresso, chocolate vodka, Frangelico and Kahlua. But don't dally, The Bee takes a winter break for the month of March. Brian shares his cocktail recipes here. Good to know: cocktails and wine are half-price for women on Tuesdays.
