Red House, Deep River

While I love the farm-to-table movement as much as the next person, sometimes I just want a burger. And I don’t necessarily need to know where the cow lived and what it ate. Clearly I’m not the only one because Red House in Deep River is packed. The old Du Glace Bistro has been transformed (via red walls, black ceiling and giant rock star portraits) into a family restaurant and live music club featuring burgers, barbecue and beer. Go early with the kids or late for the lineup of live bands and don’t miss the weirdly delicious housemade fried pickles and pig wings. Portions are ample, prices are reasonable and the staff is young and enthusiastic. Just what we needed.
