Navy Beach

A bit of a task to find (through a small industrial area, over the train tracks, bang a right at the beach, continue through the Port Royal Co-op parking lot), but oh, so worth it! Navy Beach transports you instantly elsewhere (St. Barth’s meets Cote d’Azur?). Walk straight through the restaurant and have a seat at the picnic tables or “beds” on the pebbly beach overlooking the calm waters of Fort Pond Bay.
With a setting so divine, who cares about the food? We do. An extensive menu of seafood-centric small plates, salads, ceviches kept us busy for the afternoon: Montauk clam & corn chowder, fish tacos, edamame in miso butter, and scallop ceviche. A full on dinner menu is available for larger appetites and a kid’s menu for teeny ones. We missed the sunset, but I hope you don’t; it’s what Navy Beach is famous for.
