Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Lilith Fair with a concert by a talented quintet of female singer-songwriters at the Kate on Friday, January 12th at 8pm.
The quintet includes former Connecticut State Troubadour Lara Herscovitch, Sharon Goldman, Sloan Wainwright, Trina Hamlin, and CT Folk Songwriting Contest winner Amy Soucy, who will carry the torch sparked by the groundbreaking 1997-1999 Lilith Fair tour.
This highly-collaborative show is the finale of a Northeast and mid-Atlantic U.S. tour that has run since July. The quintet, accompanied by stellar guitarist Stephen Murphy, will join forces on songs penned by Lilith Fair luminaries such as Shawn Colvin, Sarah McLachlan, Indigo Girls, Emmylou Harris, Tracy Chapman, Suzanne Vega, Joan Osborne and Patty Griffin. In addition, they will share original tunes inspired by the spirit of those artists. The show title, “Steady On,” was borrowed from one of Shawn Colvin’s most popular albums and breakthrough songs.
