16 Spring Events for 2016

We’re filling our Spring calendar with a slew of fun events:

From Downton to Gatsby, Jewelry & Fashion from 1890 – 1929, March 31st:  The Costume & Textile Society of the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art presents a lecture and jewelry trunk show with Andrew Prince, expert artisan and creator of select jewelry pieces for the hit PBS series Downton Abbey and The Young Victoria. Jewelry worn by members of the Downton Abbey cast will be on display. Cash bar.

Page’s Ladies Night, 4/7:  Mark your calendar for Page’s first ever Ladies’ Night – an evening filled with shopping, food, Ballou’s wine tasting, prizes & giveaways, DIY workshops, and more. Enjoy 20% off purchases for the evening (some exclusions apply). Tickets: $10, half the proceeds will be donated to the Women and Family Life Center.

Designer’s Circus at Guilford Art Center, 4/15 – 4/17:  Designer’s Circus pops up at Guilford Art Center for a three day blow-out sale with their enormous stock of women’s clothing and accessories at 50 – 90% below regular retail. A portion of the proceeds benefit Guilford Art Center’s educational programs.

Pirate Day at Mystic Seaport, 4/19: Head to Mystic Seaport for a day of family fun, kid-friendly pirates and high spirited activities. Decipher clues on a treasure map to find concealed pirates and the final hidden treasure. Learn how pirates of old navigated the open seas at our High Seas Planetarium Show and create your own pirate souvenir to take home (best for ages 4-10).

Daffodil Day at the Wadsworth Mansion, 4/24: A plethora of daffodils will be in bloom for this annual celebration of spring. Activities include kite flying, a dog parade and The Daffodil Dash- A Field Day For The Whole Family. Food trucks on hand for snacks and lunch.

Simsbury Flea & Smorgasbord, 4/30:  Find antiques, arts & crafts, jewelry, home decor, food trucks and live music at this mammoth market at Simsbury Meadows.

May Market at Hill-Stead Museum, 5/6 & 5/7: The museum celebrates the arrival of Spring with its signature home, garden and gourmet benefit event featuring more than 64 artisan exhibitors and specialty plant vendors, plus a Museum Open House.

2nd Annual Made In Connecticut Expo, 5/14 & 5/15:  300 Made in CT companies, plus food trucks plus craft beer and wine from local vineyards and breweries provide a weekend’s worth of entertainment at the Farmington Polo Grounds.

Tour de Lyme! May 15th: Hope you’ll join The E List team for this lovely ride through the rolling countryside of Lyme to benefit the Lyme Land Conservation Trust. Routes available for all levels of riders (including a family ride) and mountain bike or road bike routes. After, enjoy live music and a picnic featuring G-Zen, Caseus Grilled Cheese, Frank’s Wood Fired Pizza and Four Mile River Farm at Ashlawn Farm.

Rock the Gauntlet 5K Obstacle Race, May 15th: 15 – 20 man-made and natural obstacles to overcome at New Haven’s East Rock Park, plus a post-race party with refreshments and live entertainment.

Girls Pint Out presents Namaste & Drink, 5/19: Yoga and beer? Yes, please! Stony Creek Brewing and Girls Pint Out present an hour of yoga and a pint for $15.  Stay after to eat some healthy snacks, drink another pint, and make new friends.

Cyndi Lauper and Boy George at Mohegan Sun, 5/20: Girls just want to have fun! Get tix for this incredible 80’s pairing.

Kick Off Summer Party at Stonington Vineyards, 5/21 & 5/22:  Wine tastings, DJ Joey G spinning tunes, plus oysters, food trucks and more.

Garden Fest at The Florence Griswold Museum, 6/3 – 6/12: This annual highly anticipated event features a flower show, plant sale, garden talks, the festive Garden Luncheon (get your tickets, it’s always a sellout!), a trip to the NY Botanical Gardens and more (plus Cafe Flo opens for the season on May 1).

Antiques & Appraisal Day, Old Saybrook, 6/4: 70 vendors will be in attendance and appraisals conducted at this wildly popular annual event at the Hart House Campus of the Old Saybrook Historical Society.

Child & Family Agency’s 62nd Annual Sale, May 5, 6th & 7th:  Find jewelry, furniture, linens, toys, sporting goods, clothes and more at this “whale of a sale” to benefit children’s needs in New London, Middlesex and Eastern New Haven counties. Buy a treasure, help a child!
