February 8, 2012

Oh, the days of shoeboxes full of handmade cards and hours spent pasting doilies to construction paper. I don’t pay too much attention to Valentine’s Day, but it sure was fun when my daughter was five. Don’t get me wrong; my husband does a formidable job, proffering exquisite bouquets from his go-to florist, Wild Orchid in Middletown, sweet cards and, no matter how I discourage him, a box of Mocha Meltaways from Stowaway Sweets in Marblehead, MA. He does it well. Me, not so much. Beyond a card or two and a favorite dinner, I don’t get too riled up. But if I did, there are lots of wonderful ways to celebrate on the Shoreline. Send a gorgeous dozen from Roses of Autism. Drool over giant heart boxes at my favorite chocolate shops. Arrange a Boudoir photo shoot with photographer, Carrie Roseman. Enjoy dinner specials at the best restaurants up and down the Shoreline. Particularly tempting, the Lobster, Rose and Chocolate package dreamed up by Atlantic Seafood, Dagmar’s Desserts and Ashleigh’s Garden. For more Valentine’s ideas, visit events calendar. However you celebrate, I hope you have a lovely one.
