Farm dinners have become a summer ritual around here. While it’s undeniable that River Tavern started the trend nine years ago, we’re happy that chefs and farmers statewide have jumped on board. Here’s our list of outdoor food celebrations. River Tavern’s Dinners on the Farm: the original farm dinner is in its 9th season. Get tickets for Barberry Hill Farm in Madison from July 22nd – 26th and White Gate Farm in East Lyme from August 5th – 9th, to benefit CitySeed, Connecticut Farm Land Trust, Working Lands Alliance, Region 4 Schools and The New Connecticut Farmer Alliance. Millwright’s: Award-winning chef, Tyler Anderson, teams up with a guest chef for this series of dinners at Simsbury Community Farm on Thursday nights: 7/16, 8/27, 9/10 and 9/24. Fieldhouse Farm, Madison with guest chefs Jared Posocco and David Borselle from A’Vert Brasserie and desserts by Hen and Heifer, on 6/25, 7/10 and 7/24. Max Chef to Farm Dinners set up at farms in Simsbury, Farmington and Lebanon for themed dinners (think Lobster, Corn, Barbecue, Tomato!). Outstanding In The Field: Chef Jason Sobocinski of Caseus is the guest chef at this national series of pop-up dinners on September 10th at Waldingfield Farm in Washington, CT.
