Thanksgiving To Go 2020

Thanksgiving 2020

This might be the year that calls for turkey take-out. If you’ve got just a few at your Thanksgiving table, is it really worth cooking the whole megilla? Here’s where to get yours.

Order and roast your own local Ekonk Hill Turkey, and choose your sides and desserts including Grass & Bone’s famous Tur-Duck-En stuffing, scalloped or roasted potatoes, nana’s cranberry sauce, gravy and cinnamon streusel apple crisp. Pick up in Mystic or grab your delivery in Old Lyme on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:45.

The Essex is whipping up holiday dinners for four for $135 including local roasted turkey with fresh sage, rosemary, mushroom and brioche stuffing plus pumpkin bisque, chopped salad, mashed potato, sweet potato gratin, crispy brussels, green bean casserole, brioche rolls, and a pumpkin pie. All the classic sides and pies are available here, plus gluten-free options and if you’re dining solo, individual dinners are ready to go too.

Mystic Market, Old Saybrook & Mystic: You can order turkey and the fixings for two to twenty here, or put together a bountiful feast from their a la carte menu (spiced apple-cider glazed carrots, Italian sausage and fennel stuffing), or just get your gozzi turkey and have them roast it up.

Old Lyme Inn is offering a seven-course feast to go for two, four or six people, including pumpkin soup, field green salad, roasted turkey breast, mashed potatoes, sausage and apple stuffing, green beans, condiments and pie, of course.

Pasta Vita, Old Saybrook: Turkey breast, wild mushroom soup, pumpkin cheesecake and classic sides plus all the Italian favorites Pasta Vita is famous for (seven choices of lasagna, eggplant rollatini).

Order any combination of parts or even complete dinners, with comforting sides you’d expect like Mashed Potatoes, Corn Bread Stuffing, and Whole Cranberry Sauce. Call Walt’s at 860.388.3308 to place your order.

The Food Crate: Have your entire holiday dinner cooked and delivered, including a citrus roasted turkey, traditional stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, potato Au Gratin, cream of spinach, sweet potato soufflé and while mushroom ricotta strata! Visit thefoodcrate.com for more.

Get Your Turkey:

Gozzi’s Turkey Farm, Guilford: Famous for their Day-Glo dyed turkeys, though some of us find the display at the farm a little disconcerting. Nevertheless, their prized broad-breasted Gozzi Whites have been a favorite on the Shoreline for generations. Call 203.453.2771 to reserve your bird.

Cliff’s Quality Meats in Essex provides an all-natural bird. Order it up oven-ready with their signature sausage and bread crumb stuffing and a quart of house gravy or surprise your family with one of Cliff’s smoked turkey breasts and house-made kielbasa to skip the cooking altogether. Call 860.767.1539 anytime to place your order, while supplies last.

Shoreline Prime, Branford:  I believe this might be the only place to purchase a Turducken on the Shoreline (deboned chicken stuffed into a deboned duck, stuffed into a deboned turkey) for your feast this year.

Walt’sin Old Saybrook has Waybest Turkeys this year, in addition to all of the yummy sides and gravy above.

White Gate Farm: See above.
