Ford’s Lobster Becomes Haring’s in Noank

It’s no easy task to take over a beloved restaurant, but the award-winning team behind Oyster Club, Engine Room, and Port of Call just opened Haring’s at the old Ford’s in Noank. Named for the original owner (before Ford), they’ve devised a locally driven and creative seafood menu. Yes, you can still boat up and enjoy the perfect lobster roll here, hot and buttered, overloaded with meat on a brioche roll with golden fries, or any of the other creative takes on seafood classics.

Do not miss the fried clams, dredged ever so lightly in cornmeal and simply the best I’ve had. Lobster and corn fritters are a mouthwatering app, and we feasted on a creative take on biscuits and gravy: cheesy biscuits topped with lobster meat and bathed in lobster bisque. Wow. Finish up with the key lime squares, the tart and creamy filling sitting on a buttery graham cracker crust.

A cozy and sensitive reno with vintage nautical decor from the Mystic Seaport archives, new outdoor seating on the water, and you can (of course) still arrive by boat. BYOB. The cozy and vintage nautical decor, reminiscent of the area’s rich maritime history, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a memorable dining experience.
