From Fairhaven Furniture

Also known as The Alternative Home Store, family-owned Fairhaven Furniture represents furniture, lighting and home accessory lines from the U.S. and abroad for 30 years. You will see contemporary hardwood and upholstered furniture collections from many manufacturers including American Leather, Blu Dot, BDI, Copeland, Larren Grey, Lyndon, and Stressless Seating/Ekornes.

Browse through a unique array of jewelry, lamps, pillows, rugs, wood, stone and ceramic gifts and accessories, many handcrafted in America. Having started in 1981 as custom woodworkers, Fairhaven Furniture works with many design elements including but not limited to solid hardwoods along with mixed media such as stone, steel and live-edge tree boards.

Fairhaven Furniture offers in-store and on-site design services for interior design and custom furniture design as well. They are also home to River Street Gallery at Fairhaven Furniture which has year round openings and exhibitions of original artwork from primarily New Haven and Connecticut artists.

Fairhaven Furniture is located on three floors in a wonderful turn-of-the-century factory building. It is definitely worth the trip and SO easy to get to. It will take you by surprise!

Erica from the The E List says:

Fairhaven is surprising in every way, from its “could this be the place” location, to the happy discovery of three floors jam-packed with furniture and home accessories. The selection runs from classic to modern (love the blu dot tables and Murano glass pendants) and custom work, too. Pictured here, Will Steger’s cheery sofas and chairs. They call themselves “the alternative home store” and they’re right.
