The Guilford Art Center is a non-profit school, shop and gallery establish to nurture and support excellence in the arts. Through classes for adults and children, gallery programs, a shop of contemporary crafts, and special events, the Center fulfills its mission to provide opportunities for the public to experience and participate in the arts.
The school annually serves over 2,000 students, from preschool age through senior citizens. Classes and workshops are offered in ceramics, jewelry-making, metalsmithing, weaving, glass, blacksmithing, stone carving, painting, drawing and more. Tuition assistance is available to help ensure the Center’s programs are accessible to all.
The gallery presents juried and invitational exhibits of arts in all media and are open seven days a week, free of charge. The Shop, open year-round, features fine, handmade American crafts and features a large holiday sale called “Artistry”. Guilford Art Center also presents Craft Expo, the largest outdoor juried show of fine American made craft in the northeast. Craft Expo is an annual event and has been held on the Guilford Green for over 61 years.
