In Hill-Stead’s Secret Gardens, artist Christian Peltenburg-Brechneff explores the museum’s garden legacy past and present. His luminous works feature views of the Sunken Garden as it exists today, alongside imaginative visions of the long lost Wild Walking Garden, which is currently being revived. The exhibition also includes a selection of Christian’s celebrated garden paintings from the Jardins de Quatre-Vents in La Malbaie, Quebec, one of North America’s most extraordinary private gardens.
Entrance is included with museum general admission. On view October 26 through November 30, 2025
