SUMMARY:Junior League of Hartford Designer Show House
DESCRIPTION:The Junior League of Hartford’s 16th Designer Show House is presented by CTC&G (Connecticut Cottages & Gardens)\, featuring honorary design chair Matthew Patrick Smyth. \nThe Designer Show House is the Junior League of Hartford’s signature fundraising event\, and over the years has raised more than $1.7 million to support charitable projects and programs in the Greater Hartford Community. This highly anticipated event occurs every three years\, and is unlike any event in Central Connecticut. \nEvery Show House\, the Junior League spends many months searching for a notable home or estate in the Greater Hartford area\, and selects designers to makeover the interior and grounds. After transformation\, the public is invited to view the grand home that has been redesigned from the inside out. The Designer Show House is more than a home tour\, it is an experience. Come tour 820 Prospect Avenue\, a 1902 Tudor estate in Hartford’s historic West End\, after dozens of designers from across the region have put their signature styles into each room. \nPre-sale tickets $35 through May 2nd\, $50 as of May 3rd.  Click for tickets. \nHOURS: Friday\, May 2nd is our opening night party! SUMMARY:I-Park Presents: Memory Reconsidered - A Modest Proposition
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, May 17\, we will be hosting Memory Reconsidered – A Modest Proposition\, an experimental art-nature project set within a lush woodland setting. The various works will be sensitively integrated into the landscape. \nGuests are invited to arrive at I-Park at one of the following time slots: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and again from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm. \nAfter checking in and receiving a map and program guide\, you will be transported to the exhibition site\, about a 5-minute drive. Guided walks will be on offer or you may simply use your map to explore the trails and installations. \nTo fully experience all the installations can take up to two hours – more if you want to explore the trails. We can propose some shortcuts if you’re not up for that. Please wear trail boots or sneakers. In some cases\, conditions are moderate to challenging depending on the grades. \nThis event is both a free community engagement initiative as well as an I-Park fundraiser. While there is no admission fee per se\, a free will offering of $15 per adult is suggested.
