The non-profit Spectrum Art Gallery and the Arts Center Killingworth hosts the 4th Annual Summer Arts Festival fundraiser event on Saturday June 15th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday June 16th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the Essex Town Green. The free festival presents award winning artists and fine artisans from Connecticut and the tri-state area. The Festival includes representational and abstract painters working in oil, acrylic and pastel. Photographers, potters, ceramicists, glass artisans and jewelry designers will be exhibiting as well. The artisans are working with mixed media collage, wood, glass, fabric, silver and more.
The Summer Arts Festival includes a concurrent six-week Group Show (through July 14th) at Spectrum Gallery and Store (61 Main St. in Centerbrook) with a juried selection of work by participating Festival artists. Visitors can see a preview of the artists presenting at the Arts Festival and in the Spectrum Gallery Show by visiting their website to view artist galleries and bios. Spectrum Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday (12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and Sundays (12:00 to 5:00 p.m.).
The Arts Center Killingworth presents arts festivals in the summer and fall. They offer classes, camps and workshops for children, teens and adults. For more information about Arts Center programming visit their website.
20% of proceeds from purchases made at the Festival go to the arts organization and their continuing efforts to develop educational programs and enriching events for the community.
