A four-day feast of performing arts, featuring more than 70 FREE live shows and workshops in music, dance, drama, storytelling, circus arts, interactive music making and theater, plus events for kids. Shows will take place all over downtown Guilford, with a main stage in a tent on the historic town green. Performances will take place in churches, a cafe, a bookstore, a gallery, the community center and historic homes. The Guilford High School’s Performance Arts Center will be the site of marquee performances by the internationally acclaimed dance company Pilobolus and the United States Coast Guard Band. Pilobolus and six other artists will teach performing-arts classes for Guilford High School students. Pilobolus will also lead dance and movement classes for the public, for residents of a senior living center, and for individuals who ambulate via crutches or wheelchairs. The Coast Guard Band will include a side-by-side performance with the Guilford High School Wind Ensemble in its show. The festival will present a rich and diverse set of local, regional and national musicians, composers, dancers, choreographers, playwrights, actors, poets, authors, teachers and storytellers in a lively context intended to entertain, educate and even change lives.
