The Flavors of Cuba Zoom Cooking Class with Weekend Kitchen

Let’s escape to Cuba for the evening with Chef Ani of Ani’s Table. She is of Cuban decent and will introduce us to the culture and flavors of her heritage in this zoom cooking class.  Start off the evening making Mojitos!  Who doesn’t like this minty refreshing cocktail?  Ani will instruct us how to prepare Picadillo– a Cuban comfort food: a savory and fragrant stew made of ground beef and tomatoes with raisins for a little bounce of sweet and olives for a kick of salty! We will also make Moros y Christians, a traditional cuban rice and black beans dish. This is a perfect dish to learn to make for this summer’s outdoor dining.  And finally some Pastelitos de guava- these flaky guava-filled pastries are found in every bakery in Cuba.

You will be given the recipes and a detailed shopping and equipment list prior to class.  Cook part or all of the menu or just make a mojito and watch… you can decide!
