DESCRIPTION:Wondering what the #ShantyTok trend is all about? Join in for a socially-distanced Virtual Chantey Blast and you will find out! Bring your singing voice\, instrument (or both)\, cozy up with your computer\, phone\, or other streaming device and enjoy this online musical experience. \nThis event is free with a recommended donation. \nTraditionally\, the Seaport hosts a Chantey Blast every year as a fundraiser for the annual Sea Music Festival. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic\, the 2020 Sea Music Festival was canceled. However\, thanks to two generous gifts from a festival supporter\, the Museum saw the safe return of sea music to its grounds. Exclusively via this fund\, performers A.J. Wright\, Richard Donohue\, Don Sineti\, Geoff Kaufman\, Rick Spencer\, Dawn Indermuehle\, Denise Kegler\, Marc Bernier\, Chris Koldewey\, Craig Edwards\, Chris Maden\, Yves Corbiere\, Mark Lambert\, and April Grant as well as the delightful and renowned musical groups “The Johnson Girls\,” “The Vox Hunters\,” and “Skylark” were invited to perform throughout the summer\, fall\, and early winter months of 2020. \nWhile the event is free\, your donations are greatly appreciated you can make your donations online. Donations are also accepted by check payable to “Mystic Seaport Museum” as well.
