Having lived most of my life in New England, I’m a bit of a lobster roll snob but the version offered at the Mermaid Inn is a serious contender. Order the Blue Plate Special–a large scoop of barely dressed lobster on fresh brioche, pile of skinny fries and a Blue Point Beer for $20 before 7 pm—a city steal and a roll to rival any in CT. (Around the corner from the Cooper Square Hotel).
