DESCRIPTION:Chester’s Gone Celestial AGAIN!! Starry Night Public Art Installation With More Stars \nJust in time for the holidays! Starting Friday\, December 3\, 2021\, at 5:45pm\, Chester Center will illuminate the sky with a special 2 month-long public art installation featuring 200\, 3.5’ and 7’ hand-fabricated stars. The event is part of the town’s First Friday Holiday Festival & Stroll\, 5-8pm.\, sponsored by the Chester Merchant’s Association. Shops\, galleries\, and eateries will be open for a festive and socially safe evening. \nBack by popular demand\, is Chester CT’s well-known large scale public art installation\, “Starry Nights\,” the town will feature a dazzling display of over 200 large hand-fabricated stars wrapped in twinkling light and hung along Main Street’s\, trees\, storefronts\, hillsides\, and buildings\, scattering celestial joy throughout the holiday months. Chester is ready to showcase the charming star-like town that it is with a joyful public art display of illuminated stars. Chester artist and resident\, Christopher Owens is back at work building and laying out his art installation to raise spirits and bring Holiday cheer. “Stars unify us all. No matter where you are\, we just need to look up at the stars to be reminded that we share the stars regardless of affiliation or denomination\,” said Owens. “The stars join us and bind us without prejudice or affiliation—which is what we need right now.”” said Christopher\, adding\, “The installation is even bigger this year\, it will be magical.” The installation is also part of several town-planned events that invites visitors to discover all the unique finds in Chester and encourage folks to shop local. Small businesses\, galleries\, shops\, eateries\, and more are vital to communities and are the framework that help define Connecticut’s treasured small towns.
