Join the Guilford Art Center’s annual Soup for Good TO GO event on Sunday\, November 23\, 2025\, and help support two vital local nonprofits—the Guilford Art Center and the Guilford Food Bank. \nThis much-loved community tradition offers a comforting meal to take home—and the chance to choose a one-of-a-kind handmade bowl created by GAC potters. Each bowl is a work of art\, made with care by instructors and students in the Center’s ceramics studio. \nFor $40 per ticket\, participants will receive a choice of three homemade soups\, plus bread and wine\, all packed to go. Guests can pick up their food and select their handmade bowl on Sunday\, November 23\, from 2:00–3:30pm at Guilford Art Center. \n“Our potters put their hearts into this event\,” says Maureen Belden\, Executive Director of Guilford Art Center. “Each bowl represents creativity and community. By participating\, you’re supporting the arts and helping local families in need—it’s a beautiful way to give back.” \nWhile you’re there\, be sure to visit the Holiday Expo\, open from 12:00–5:00 pm\, where you can shop handcrafted gifts made by over 150+ local and regional artists. \nTickets must be purchased in advance by Monday\, November 17 at www.guilfordartcenter.org. Artists will display and sell their work in the HOLIDAY EXPO shop on December 7\, 14 and 21. \nDecember 7\, 12-4pm: Laura Berkowitz Gilbert\, Tocco Studio: Laura Berkowitz Gilbert\, of Tocco Studio\, is a fiber artist who creates naturally dyed handcrafted products for the modern home. Employing natural dyes like organic indigo\, cochineal and even food waste like avocado pits\, she coaxes beautiful colors out of her vats to dye scarves\, felted vases and fiber for wall art. \nDecember 14\, 10am-4pm: The Lyme Artisans Guild: The Lyme Artisans Guild is a collective of fine craftspersons with its roots in an artisan guild that was part of Old Lyme\, Connecticut’s history. It celebrates the spirit of the Arts and Crafts movement\, and fosters a community of talented artisans dedicated to creating unique and inspired works of art. Participating artists include Michaelle Pearson (silver jewelry)\, Ian Evertson (wood products)\, Sherry Block (forged metalwork)\, Wayne Kirk (pottery)\, Janet Soares (hooked rugs)\, Barbara Eaglesham (mosaic hangings)\, Troy Antoniewicz (functional copper)\, and Carol Stanland (ceramic\, candles). \nDecember 21\, 12-pm: Linda Westgard: Linda Westgard is a ceramic artist who works primarily in stoneware which she throws and builds by hand and fires in a kiln she built herself. She uses a combination of traditional Japanese glazes along with other interesting glazes\, and often leaves areas bare in order to reveal the clay’s natural beauty and texture. She also experiments with surfaces by carving and imprinting forms. \nThe Shop is open 7 days a week. Hours: Monday through Saturday\, 10:00am-5:00pm and Sunday 12:00-5:00pm.

DESCRIPTION:One of Guilford’s beloved retail establishments\, M!X Design Store\, was a shopping destination for contemporary accessories and home goods for over 16 years. The shop recently closed but the community has a chance to shop for Investment Design’s signature jewelry created by the original owners Wendy and Betsy. A wide variety of pieces will be sold at the Guilford Art Center Shop during a special sales event from September 27 – October 5\, 2024. \nAdditionally\, the public is invited to meet Walden and Gribble and shop the collection at a special reception at the Center on Saturday\, September 28 from 1-3pm. The event is free and the community is invited to attend. \nThe contemporary jewelry for sale is from Walden and Gribble’s line\, Investment Design. Their work focuses on collages pieces to be worn: bracelets\, earrings\, necklaces\, and pins are fashioned from antique and vintage pieces. All proceeds from the sale will benefit Guilford Art Center’s educational programs. \n“We have a long history of involvement with the Guilford Art Center\,” says Walden. “We’ve sold our work in the shop and participated for many years in the Craft Expo event on the Guilford Green. All generations of my family have participated in classes and my husband even taught there.
