DESCRIPTION:Looking for something fun to do this fall? \nSign up to sing with Cappella Cantorum Masterworks Chorus! Registration will take place Monday\, September 11\, 7pm\, at John Winthrop Middle School (1 Winthrop Rd\, Deep River)\, with the first rehearsal immediately following. Rehearsals are generally held on Mondays from 7-9pm at the same location. \nMusic selections for the Fall semester include Magnificat (composed by John Rutter) and The Many Moods of Christmas (arranged by Robert Shaw). Scores may be purchased in advance on this website or in person on registration night (or bring your own if you already have them). \nBoth pieces will be performed at the Winter Concert on Sunday\, December 3\, 2023\, in the auditorium of John Winthrop Middle School (subject to change based on availability). The Masterworks Chorus and Cappella Orchestra will be conducted by Simon Holt\, Music Director of Cappella Cantorum and the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme\, as well as the Founder and Artistic Director of Salt Marsh Opera. \nAll singers ages 13 and up are welcome; no auditions required. Registration and music fees are waived for students 18 & under. Click here to pre-register and order music scores. Hayes) \nCappella Cantorum is the premiere non-auditioned community choral group of the Connecticut Shoreline and Lower CT River Valley. Cappella’s 52 year history includes local and international performances as well as performing 6 times at Carnegie Hall.
