SUMMARY:Think Small: A Small Works Fundraiser & Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:This small works fundraiser includes a small work of art from over 70 artists who have exhibited in the Keyes Gallery over the past 15 years. All work will be priced at $350 or less and be no larger than 16″ x 16”. This lively exhibition of art is timed for holiday gift giving at the festive opening celebration. \nProceeds will support the “Outdoor Library Project”\, a reimagined garden space which will function as an extension of the library for activities such as children’s story time\, reading\, and cultural gatherings\, furthering the library’s role as a community hub. \nThis exhibition is an opportunity for patrons and artists to give back to the library and support the “Outdoor Library Project”. DESCRIPTION:This exhibit at the Keyes Gallery presents a look at art made by the acclaimed abstract painter\, Mary Elizabeth Marvin Peterson\, during one of the most turbulent times the world has ever experienced\, the global Covid-19 pandemic. \nJOIN THE ARTIST FOR AN OPENING RECEPTION AT THE KEYES GALLERY ON MARCH 6\, 2022\, FROM 4-6 PM. \nABOUT THE ARTIST… Mary Elizabeth is an abstract painter whose meditative paintings combine dynamic colors\, natural shapes\, and fluid line work. She worked for many years as a writer\, immersed in the investment industry and strategic marketing. In 1997\, she underwent life-threatening brain surgery and found her soul’s purpose in art at The Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington\, DC. She has been pursuing art full time since 2001\, is a juried member of the elite Silvermine Art Guild\, and has done a residency at The Vermont Studio Center. \nMary Elizabeth is a Connecticut native and has a studio at Erector Square in New Haven. Her artwork is shown in galleries and museums in the US. Her art is highly sought-after by private and corporate collectors\, and she has worked on commercial and hospitality interior design projects on a global level. She launched her signature brand of art prints\, Abstract Fabulous®\, in 2021. She also sells her original paintings on her website and is a brand ambassador for Jerry’s Artarama. \nMary Elizabeth has long-standing collaborations with Anthropologie\, Ballard Designs\, Lillian August\, Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma Home to offer exclusive reproductions of her work. Her art has also appeared in designer show homes\, books\, magazines and major motion pictures and popular tv shows. She has been active as a motivational speaker and has juried national art competitions.
