SUMMARY:Mohegan Sun’s 8th Annual Sun BBQ Fest
DESCRIPTION:Sun BBQ Fest is back at Mohegan Sun\, as guests can once again celebrate and enjoy amazing barbecue\, cold beer\, hand-crafted cocktails\, live music\, and so much more. The 8th Annual Sun BBQ Fest is a two day event taking place in the Winter Parking Lot on Saturday\, September 4th and Sunday\, September 5th. Nationally-acclaimed BBQ teams will be on hand for the People’s Choice Competition that allows festival goers to try their incredible food. Guests can also participate in the annual Wing and Rib Competition. Sun BBQ Fest also includes a World Food Championship-sanctioned barbecue competition with teams participating in barbecue\, dessert\, and burger contests. Over the course of two days\, more than $25\,000 in prize money will be awarded! \n\n\nTickets for Sun BBQ Fest are $5 per day and on sale now through sunbbqfest.com and at Mohegan Sun Box Office. Kids ages six and under receive free admission. Admission tickets and $1.00 tickets for food and beverages will be also be available for purchase at the festival entrance. Tickets are required to be used to purchase food and beverage from bar\, vendors and BBQ partners. \n\n\nRibs & Wings Galore \nGuests can feast throughout the day by participating in the People’s Choice Contest. World Food Championship teams will offer $2 BBQ samples all weekend long\, and guests can vote for the best in show. Voting will be open from Saturday at 11:00am until Sunday at 3:00pm and the winners will be announced on Sunday at 4:00pm. \n\n\nIn addition to the People’s Choice competition\, guests can indulge at the Rib and Wing Challenges. All World Food Championship competitors will be given racks of ribs and loads of chicken wings to prepare in any flavor they wish. For $1 each\, guests can taste any ribs or wings and help determine who reigns supreme. Winners will be announced on Saturday evening prior to the fireworks show\, and a portion of the proceeds from both competitions benefit Operation BBQ Relief\, an organization dedicated to providing meals to disaster-stricken communities across the U.S. The Rib Challenge Tent is open to guests on Saturday from Noon – 2:30pm\, and the Wing Challenge Tent is open on Saturday from 6:00pm – 8:30pm. \n\n\n\nSun BBQ Fest wouldn’t be complete without entertainment!\n\nGuests can check out the Coca-Cola activation area that features a real life size Nascar vehicle and tastings of Coca-Cola Zero Sugar.
