DESCRIPTION:BEES & BIRDS & BUTTERFLIES OH MY!\n“FREE” EVENT AT SAMUEL SMITH FARMSTEAD \nOn Saturday\, September 13th from 10 am to 3 pm\, Samuel Smith Farmstead will host “Bees & Birds & Butterflies Oh My”. The event for Adults and Children is free\, and will be held at the Farmstead located at 82 Plants Dam Road in East Lyme\, Connecticut. \nThis gathering of informed and educated participants offers an opportunity to learn together about protecting Honey Bees and Birds in our Ecosystem. The following organizations will be present and educate attendees on Honey Bees\, Pollinator Plants\, Wild Birds and also offer helpful ways to invite Mother Nature into our yards and gardens. \nDrew’s Honeybees – Beekeeper Drew Burnett will enlighten you about Local Native Pollinators and how to keep your Plants Fruiting and Reproducing. Drew will also sell Honey and other products related to his Honeybees. \nWild Birds Unlimited Niantic – Information on Fall Birds and Migration will be offered. \nPollinator Pathway East Lyme – Information on Attracting Pollinators will be provided. Activities will include Seed Mud Balls and Microscope View opportunities for Adults & Kids. \nSmith’s Acres – A Selection of Pollinator Friendly Plants will be offered for Sale at the Event. \nOld Ledge Apiaries – Beekeeper Steve Dinsmore will offer his local Honey for sale. \nThe event is free and open to the Public. Donations are greatly appreciated with all proceeds going to fund needed repairs to the historic House and Barn at Samuel Smith Farmstead.
