Connecticut Early Music Society Festival

Connecticut Early Music Society presents three distinct and contrasting virtual concerts June 11-13, all at 5:00 P.M.

On Friday, June 11th, enjoy a program by Les Délices featuring musical versions of Aesop’s timeless fables interspersed with virtuosic ground bass variations by Jean-Féry Rebel, Marin Marais, Jean-Philippe Rameau, and others. Featuring tenor Jason McStoots and soprano Elena Mullins, who presents a new choreography for Rebel’s brilliant showpiece Caractères de la danse.

On Saturday Norwich native and Yale School of Music graduate, Sarah Yanovitch is featured in a program including Incidental Music to The Tempest by Matthew Locke, 17th c. songs by Purcell and contemporaries, and Purcell’s Suite from Abdelazer. Artistic Director Ian Watson conducts the Connecticut Early Music Festival Ensemble.

Sunday will feature a program of sinfonias, sonatas, and concertos by Vivaldi and Bach, featuring violinist Aisslinn Nosky and cellist Guy Fishman. Artistic Director Ian Watson conducts the Connecticut Early Music Festival Ensemble.
