I-Park, a nonprofit organization with an internationally recognized artists-in-residence program, invites the public to two special events marking the conclusion of their 25th anniversary season. Visitors of all ages are encouraged to come out to I-Park and experience the creativity that emerges where art and nature intersect.
Open Studios on Saturday, October 31 from 2:00 to 5:00pm.
Between 2:00 and 3:45 pm, the six current artists-in-residence at I-Park will be present in their studios to share their works, discuss their creative explorations during their residency, and to offer insight into their respective disciplines: creative writing, music composition, and a variety of visual art practices. At 4pm, guests will experience a reading in the Common Area by writer-in-residence Molly Reid and a jazz guitar performance by composer-in-residence, Amine Dhouibi, followed by refreshments and a reception with the artists. Open Trails on Saturday, November 7 from 9:30am to 3:30pm.
This final public event of I-Park’s annual season will feature a special crafting session in the morning led by I-Park’s friends from Epoch Arts in East Hampton, an optional guided hike along some of I-Park’s lesser traveled paths, and live music from the HouseBand at School of Rock Madison in the afternoon- a lively performance that will be a hit with visitors of all ages. Guests may wander I-Park’s varied trails at their will, encountering more than 40 site-responsive artworks nestled in the landscape, or participate in the varied activities planned for the day. Advance reservations are appreciated for Open Studios and Open Trails, though walk-ins may register at the welcome table upon arrival. While the events are free to attend, a suggested minimum donation of $10 per adult supports I-Park’s mission to nurture artists of exceptional talent, celebrate the creative process and inspire the community through shared public events like these. Please register for either event by visiting i-park.org/events.
