A Bevy of Boots at Robertson Madison

If you ask me, one of the best things about fall is boots. I love them! Once September rolls around, I drag out my stash. Aside from high heels which I have little use for anymore, I like them in all shapes and sizes. And for those of us that have to navigate these ridiculous (and getting more so) New England winters, there’s nothing like a lug sole to keep your feet firmly planted. Robertson Madison always has a stellar selection of boots from the likes of Frye, Aquatalia and Hunter and this year, owner Linda Palo is introducing this French collection constructed from the finest Italian leathers. There wasn’t a style I didn’t like, from the low motorcycle inspired boot, to the oh-so-current covered wedge, to the knee high. Details are understated and hardware is minimal and silver. Boots by Virois Chaussures from $550 to $625. If it’s the over-the-knee trend you’re after, you’ll also find the original Stuart Weitzman version here. It’s stocked in a bunch of colors and with a stretchy back that hugs the calf for a long and lanky look.

Also on our wishlist at Robertson Madison: a lightweight cashmere poncho by Repeat for $258 and the perfect black pump (so simple yet so hard to find!), $195.
