A Farm on Your Doorstep: Healthy PlanEat
Can’t make it to the farmer’s market? Now you can get your local farm-fresh veggies delivered straight to your door with Healthy PlanEat. Launched during the pandemic as a farm pick-up service with locations in surrounding towns, founder Rosemary Ostfeld now provides direct-to-your-door delivery. Order Sunday or Monday by 9pm, and a plethora of local veggies will be on your doorstep by the end of the week.
My box was brimming with fresh bunches of kale, lots of summer squash and zucchini, onions, cukes, beets, and a sweet package of honeycomb. It was more than enough veggies to keep me eating healthy all week long.
The boxes come from Cugno’s Farm in Colchester, Provider Farm in Salem and Cloverleigh Farm (woman owned!) cost $45 per box.
If you’d rather pick up in person, peruse the Healthy PlanEat website, make your purchases by farm during the order window, and choose your pick-up location from the list, which includes Old Lyme, East Lyme, Fisher’s Island, Essex, Middletown, and more.
Lots of local goodies are available, including Nana’s spectacular breads, Guilford’s Micro Greens, oysters, maple syrup, meats and cheeses, and more veggies than you can imagine. Rosemary’s brilliant idea is bringing the wealth of local farm products directly to the people. A lovely thing to support!
Order window is Sunday and Monday until 9pm, except THIS WEEK the order window will be extended until Tuesday, August 3, 2021 for E List readers.
