A Madison Shopping Spree

I spent a happy afternoon last week browsing around Madison, mainly for my daughter, but you know how that works out. I bought an equal amount for myself!

Homeward Collective, 685 Boston Post Road (also in Old Lyme at 24 Lyme Street)
The Dressing Room, 703 Boston Post Road
If you’re on the hunt for a sparkly outfit, and this seems to be the year for it, head straight to Homeward Collective and The Dressing Room. Both have a sweet selection of dresses and separates for your holiday soirees at GREAT prices. My daughter is the happy owner of this gorgeous copper sequined skirt $102), to be paired with a sheer black turtleneck from Homeward Collective, and I’m seriously considering this black sequined “duster” ($99!) that you can pop over a pair of jeans and call it dress-up. The back room at The Dressing Room is well stocked with bling, and you can snag any of these earrings from $78 to $98. Or go literally over-the-top with these rhinestone-encrusted headbands ($88). Good to know: Planning a wedding? Stop here for gowns for bride and bridesmaid!

J. Horton, 690 Boston Post Road
You simply can’t leave J. Horton empty-handed. One of my favorite shops to snoop, owner Joanie manages to find the most unusual gifts and goodies. I flipped for these incredible and deeply colorful orb candles from the oldest candle maker in Italy. For the gal or guy who has everything, Vintage Lux Up takes vintage Hermes scarves and repurposes them into collectible acrylic boxes. Owner Joannie also has a stock of my favorite mesmerizing Piecework puzzles. I grabbed Oy to the World for lazing around on Christmas week.
While I recommend the in-store experience, you can shop online, too: https://www.jhortonstore.com

Slate, 91 Wall St, Madison
Slate is the destination in Madison for chic luxury brands like Closed, Autumn Cashmere, Frank and Eileen, Xirena, L’agence, and James Perse. The look here is casual, and it’s the spot to stock up on not-your-average sweaters, the perfect tee, and those famous-fit stretch chinos by Frank and Eileen.

Willow & Birch, 36 Wall Street
Snag these hand-knit mittens (with a small hole for your texting finger, so smart!) and Apres ski hats with removable pompoms from the adorably named Shit That I Knit. I’d love to have this entire stack of books on my coffee table. Find these and so much more at the festive Willow and Birch. https://willowandbirchhome.com
