A Perfect Birthday Gift: Aquinnah Jewelry
If you’re wondering who that gorgeous model we used in our recent fall photoshoot for the shop is, it’s none other than local jewelry designer Kelley Solomon. We’ve long been fans of her clean aesthetic, well-priced, and wearable collection, and we interviewed her last year for a “local designers” list.
Sadly for us, we can’t stock it in the store because she’s well represented in Chester with our good friend’s over at Blackkat leather. But that doesn’t mean we can’t drool over her designs!
There’s lots to love, but what caught my eye this season are these vintage astrological charms. I think everyone should sport their sign around their neck so you know EXACTLY what you’re dealing with (I’ve been told I’m as Leo as one gets!), and these pretties are the way to go. The necklaces are crafted from brass vintage coin castings finishing in 18K satin gold, adorned with a single tiny crystal and strung on delicate 20″ gold-filled chains. Kelley’s designs work particularly well stacked and layered, the jewelry trend of the moment. And they make for a thoughtful gift for your horoscope-dependent friends and family.
Kelley has an important charitable component to her line, too, with 20% of sales of her waxed cotton Fishtail Bracelets benefiting a local non-profit. This month and next, the Terry Brodeur Breast Cancer Foundation is the recipient.
