An Expert Appraisal at New England Gem Lab, Old Saybrook
You know that “someday” list you have? I decided I was going to finally get through a few of mine. One of which was appraising my “things” for an insurance rider, something I hadn’t done in twenty-plus years, and values have changed, shall we say, dramatically! I was delighted to find Cindy and Morgan Konney of New England Gem Lab right here in Old Saybrook. This incredibly knowledgeable mother/daughter team are happy (and fully licensed) sleuths. They are a font of knowledge when it comes to diamonds, estate jewelry, silver, and other valuables. If they don’t know it, they will find it. I had a great time at their office blabbing about family histories, rare finds, and provenance, all the while pouring through their vast library. It’s sort of like our very own Antiques Roadshow! My estimate included a few surprises (both good and not so good!). You’ll come away with a detailed replacement-value appraisal with digital photos and a feeling of safety and security, too. No need to put this off any longer, and there’s nothing like the feeling of crossing a twenty-year-old chore off your list!
