Whether you are looking to brush up on your artistic skills, spark creative ideas, or encourage your children to do so, Shell and Bee is a productive and fun place to be during these times. Freelance artist and art educator, Chelbi Wade brings her expertise to her art school in Deep River. Chelbi’s work graces the walls of Grano Arso and has been seen in Earth & Fire Studio, River Valley Artist Tour, and Blackkat Leather. Her careful, knowledgeable instruction comes from both her training in Fine Art and Art Education and her experience as a Montessori teacher. With the help of two fellow instructors Marissa and Abby, she offers a range of classes for both young and old.

I recently attended a Fabric Pumpkin Making night with a few friends. We sat six feet apart and sipped Prosecco, caught up on the latest gab, and sewed sweet pumpkins from vintage clothing. Perfect for beginners and experts alike! Upcoming workshops include Dishtowel Printmaking, Wreath Making, Felted Ornaments and more. Check the event schedule here.

Private and small group classes for children include a variety of mediums from Intro to Sculpture to Digital Illustration. Find them here. The studio space is small and works well for smaller groups but expansion is planned for Spring.

Shell and Bee is also hosting a Holiday Arts Fair Sunday, November 8th, 12-4pm. There will be 22 local vendors, including bakers, brewers, candle makers, custom wood-burning, and many more! The Nest will be serving hot drinks and snacks alongside High Nine Brewery tasting. Eight Mile Meadow will be selling their yummy soft pretzels and breads.
