Athleta X The E List: Take 20% Off Our Favorite Items During Friends & Family

We’ve been partnering with Athleta for an in-store shopping party for several years now, but the dates didn’t work this year. But that doesn’t mean YOU can’t take advantage of fresh fall items and discounts! I ran up to Westfarms to get a preview of the new collection and picked out my favorites to share with you. Head up to West Hartford from September 13th to September 17th and take 20% off everything in shop. Just say you saw it on The E List.

I’ve been a fan of Athleta’s workout wear forever and own a drawer full of leggings, tops, and bras. But as athleisure has become a mainstay of our wardrobes, I find that I turn to Athleta for my everyday wear, too. (These Soho joggers SAVED me this summer). Their innovation and dedication to recyclable and highly technical (not to mention cozy!) fabrics crosses well over to the sorts of clothes we reach into our closets for every day. This season, their focus has turned to taking these functional fabrications and translating them into street wear: the pieces that you can work out in, throw a jacket over (they’ve got an outstanding blazer) and, believe it or not make it to that business meeting, and nobody’s the wiser. The fabrics are wicking, washable and anti-stink!  It is, frankly, a genius concept.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Jeans

My first purchase was the new dark overdye in their Sculptek Jeans. This midweight, high-rise, straight leg won’t bag out, and doesn’t grab you around the ankle (like a jegging). I’m wearing them rolled up and cuffed, and they’ll be my transitional go-to. The feel of a legging, the look of a jean (but, no, they’re not jeggings).  I LOVE them. Available in a variety of washes, including black, but for me, it’s all about the dark denim overdye.  $118.

Cosmic Blazer

This nipped blazer in a super stretchy and luxe Italian fabric, gives you a great shape, but it’s an easy fit because it doesn’t have buttons. A perfect travel piece, it WILL NOT wrinkle and will keep you feeling pulled together whether you’re tossing it over leggings, jeans or the trousers, below. Think of it as a sweater option, too.  $198

Wander Slim Pant

I love everything about this pant, from the high rise that sucks you in, to the sweet little slit on the bottom that adds style. Works so well with the Blazer above, but here’s a pant you might want in Black AND navy, because what will you do on laundry day? Very flattering, super stretchy and oh, so comfy. $108

Athleta Wander Pant

Cloudlight Cowl

This updated basic has a flattering Vee neck with an easy, relaxed fit in a yummy fabric that feels great against your skin.  It’s a lightweight, breathable Modal but not sheer, so it works well as a layering piece under a sweater or jacket. Think of it as your everyday tee.The Auberge (pictured) and Havana Brown shades are right on this season and punch up all that black, navy, and gray.  $59.  Find it here.

Athleta Cloudlight top

Lombard Top

Here’s your cozy top, in a brushed fabric you’ll never want to peel off. Almost a tunic, with a relaxed fit and longer hem, this will be your throw-on-and-head-to-yoga piece. Sports those fun thumb holes, too. $69. Find it here.

Cloudburst Jacket

It’s rough to find the right rain jacket, and if you’re on the hunt, here’s your answer. The longer cover-the-butt length can work over a sweater or jacket, but it’s nipped at the waist with strategic seaming to give you some shape. The recycled poly is not only water-resistant but sustainable and that deep dark navy is perfect. The price is right, too, at $158, and with 20% off you’re getting a deal.  Black and Dove Gray available, too.

A Good Bag!

Athleta has collaboarted with Caraa this season to produce a collection of bags, from weekenders to backpacks. They’re all good, but fannypacks are happening (isn’t that hilarious?) and I love this one that converts from a waist bag to a cross body for all your essentials. $88.  Find it here.

Convertible Fanny Pack

Stirrups!

On the hunt for a new legging? These fun stirrup pants also have a cinch at the bottom so you can wear them two ways. The high waist won’t roll down, plus this crazy Powervita fabric is super soft AND supportive. Barre Stirrup Tight $89.
