My family traipses across the state every year to the CT Farmland Trust’s annual benefit, The Celebration of Connecticut Farms. Why? Not only is it a wonderful cause (supporting the organization’s efforts to protect CT farmland), it is my favorite non-profit event.

Thirty of the best restaurants in the state (including some of my New Haven fave’s: Zinc, Miya’s Sushi, Heirloom and Caseus) dish up their best small plates, accompanied by tastings from ten local wineries and breweries. It is absolute foodie heaven and this year it’s even better! It’s right in my own backyard at Ashlawn Farm in Lyme. The daylong festival features live music, a silent auction and you can eat as much as you like.
