Cire Trudon at Lori Warner Gallery

Do you have someone on your list who is worthy of a candle fit for a king? If so, Lori Warner Gallery has you covered with the highest quality, most prestigious candle line out there. The official supplier to the royal court of Louis the XIV in Versailles, Paris-based Maison Cire Trudon is the oldest wax-producer and candle factory in the world (established in 1643). An ancient blend of palm, rice, soy and copra oils is poured into an Italian blown-glass vessel that is as exquisite as the fragrance. Choose from Dada (tea and vetiver with notes of eucalyptus and mint) or Bartoleme (wood-tinged breeze with spices such as nutmeg, saffron and licorice). These signature scents are available as room sprays too, packaged in a Italian glass bottle with a vintagey atomizer. This is one special gift that is high on my personal list (are you reading this, Joe??).

Also, don’t miss: Head downstairs to Lori’s new gift shop, SWOON, and among the goodies you’ll find Charlie Van Over’s Folding Pocket Batard Knife. Charlie (Chester baker of heavenly loaves and author of The Best Bread Ever) believes that bread should be sliced rather than ripped. And we concur. A serrated knife tucked away alongside a corkscrew? There is no finer gift for bread and wine lovers. Folding knife is $34.50.
