Elevated Essentials at Deep River Home
Do not pass by the black barn on Union Street in Deep River. Brooklynite Jennie Maneri (like many of us) fell in love with the area and decided to make a permanent move with her family during Covid. An airy barn next door to their cozy farmhouse was the ideal space to realize her dream of having her own store.
Previously the Creative Director for Herman Miller, Jennie has a rigorous aesthetic, and has sourced all of her favorite things for this chic shop. Styled to be a modern take on a general store, you’ll find kitchen implements, art books, handmade brooms and brushes, handblown glass vases, Swedish striped pillows, hand-woven baskets from Maine, and an intriguing selection of stationery items (like colorful Japanese rubber bands!). On my list are the delicate but hardy Borosilicate stackable glasses for tea or wine. I never knew I needed a leather fly swatter, but couldn’t leave without it.
