The Benton is turning 60, and there’s plenty to celebrate. The anniversary festivities kick off Thursday, September 10, with an opening reception from 5–7pm for three new exhibitions and the launch of the museum’s 60th Anniversary Online Silent Auction. Browse the galleries, see auction items in person, and get a first look at original artwork, memorable experiences, and one-of-a-kind treasures up for bid.
The online auction continues through Sunday, September 27, when the celebration wraps up with final bidding and The Benton Birthday Party from 2–4pm.
Best of all, bidding supports a tradition worth celebrating: six decades of keeping the William Benton Museum of Art free and accessible to all. Auction proceeds directly support the museum’s exhibitions and education programs, which serve more than 77,000 UConn students, schoolchildren, and community members each year.
