School’s out, and fun is in! Kick-off a great summer at the Celebrate Saybrook Street Party sponsored by FromYouFlowers. A portion of Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic (starting at noon, between Elm and Sheffield Street) to create a pedestrian-friendly zone that will feature live music, food, craft beer, an eclectic mix of vendors and lots of family fun.
What’s on the menu?
Food will be available from local restaurants including Penny Lane Pub, Liv’s Oyster Bar, Cuckoo’s Nest, Gargano Pasta & Italian Market, AJ Noodle Bar and a variety of food trucks including our local Ben & Jerry’s, Little Pub, and Get Roasted and many more.
What’s on stage?
Two live bands will headline the Street Party’s main stage with Wicked Peach, this area’s ultimate rock cover band, kicking things off followed by Soul Sound Revue, a showstopping dance/party band sponsored by Webster Bank.
What’s on tap?
Craft beer will be provided by Old Saybrook’s own Myrcene Ale as well as other area brewers including Fox Farm Brewery in Salem, Coastline Brewery in Westbrook and Five Churches Brewing in New Britain.
What’s fun for families?
Other entertainment includes juggler Jason Tardy, Amazing Andy who will wander about making his balloon creations, Uncle Sam stilt walker, live disc golf demos all day with Rob Lemire from Action Sports, Big Daddy’s Racing, vendor-sponsored kid activities as well as giant Jenga, tic tac toe and Connect 4.
What about the shopping?
Many Main Street businesses such as Maximus, Lisa Ludwig Art, Pieces, Essex Golf & Sportswear and Cottage Flair will host special sales events and fun activities, while craft and retail vendors will sell unique handcrafted items.
